What this site keeps, and where it goes.

Plain answers about the booking form, what your browser stores, the camera booth, Instagram, and photographs of you.

The short version

  • One form. The booking form is the only place this site asks for personal details. It emails them to our business mailbox, and our server keeps a copy of each request.
  • Your device keeps the rest. Your roll, your settings, your game scores, and a note of where you came from stay in your browser.
  • No trackers. No analytics, no ad pixels, no third-party tracking scripts, and no cookies for visitors.
  • The camera booth stays on your device. Nothing it sees is uploaded.
  • Photos of you come down on request. Within 24 hours, on every channel.

The booking form

The form at /book/ asks what you need photographed, your name, and your email address. Everything else is yours to add: a phone number and how you'd like us to reach you, the date, time of day, and place, details for the kind of shoot (such as square footage, guest count, hours, or the number of people), notes, and how you first heard about us. It also carries the note of where you came from (below), so we know which pages and posts bring requests.

Frames from your roll. Unless you untick the box, the form attaches the labels and page links of the photographs you circled on your roll, or of every photograph on it when none are circled. Pictures your device made in the scenes and games are never sent.

While you fill it in. Your answers are saved in this browser tab, so a reload or a detour loses nothing. They are deleted when the request is sent, and your browser drops them when you close the tab.

Where it goes. The form sends your request to our web server, which emails it to the business mailbox, contact@snappedculture.com. The server also keeps a copy of every request, with the note of where you came from, in a private folder outside the public website, so a request still reaches us if an email goes astray. When confirmation emails are switched on, the server also emails you a note that your request arrived.

Stopping spam. To limit how many requests one connection can send in an hour, the server keeps the times of recent requests, filed under a scrambled form of your IP address (a keyed hash), never the address itself. Old entries are removed automatically.

Who sees it. SnappedCulture, and the photographer assigned to your job, who gets what the shoot needs: when, where, and how to reach you on the day. We don't sell your details, share them for advertising, or add you to a mailing list.

Keeping and deleting. Booking emails and the server's copies are kept as business records. Ask us to delete yours and we delete both, except what an invoice or tax records require us to keep.

Where you came from

On your first visit, the site makes a short note: the address of the page you landed on, with the campaign tags in its link (utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, utm_content, utm_term), the address of the page that linked you here if it was on another site, and the time. A second note covers the current visit. Both stay in your browser and leave your device only inside a booking request you choose to send. They are never sent anywhere else.

What your browser keeps

The site remembers a few things in your browser's storage: local storage, which stays until you clear it, and session storage, which ends when you close the tab. None of them are cookies, and none are shared with other sites. Clearing this site's data in your browser removes them, and so does the button below.

On this device, right now

  • Your browser's settings can show and clear this site's data at any time (site settings, then clear data).

The camera booth

The booth at snappedculture.com/play/booth/ asks for your camera only when you press start, through your browser's own permission prompt, and you can say no. The picture is processed on your device. No image or video is uploaded, and the site never asks for your microphone. Anything you save goes to your device. Leaving the page turns the camera off.

Instagram on this site

The Instagram grid comes through our own server: it asks Instagram for our recent public posts, so your browser never contacts Instagram's API. The pictures themselves load from Instagram's image servers (cdninstagram.com and fbcdn.net), which receive what any image request carries: your IP address, your browser, and this site's address. No Instagram script runs unless you choose to load a post.

Posts and videos

Posts and videos from YouTube, Vimeo, Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok appear as a placeholder until you press it. Until then, nothing is requested from those services. Once you do, the service loads in a frame on the page and its own privacy policy applies. YouTube videos load from youtube-nocookie.com.

No trackers, no ads

This site runs no analytics, advertising, or tracking scripts, it doesn't fingerprint your device, and it sets no cookies for visitors. Its fonts and scripts are served from this site. Our web host keeps standard server logs (IP address, browser, page, and time) for security and troubleshooting.

Photos of you

If a photograph we've posted shows you, your child, or your event and you want it removed, tell us. We take it down within 24 hours on every channel where it appears: this site, Instagram, Facebook, and our Google Business Profile. We don't ask why.

Email contact@snappedculture.com, call or text (480) 331-6252, or message @snappedculture on Instagram. Include the link, or describe the photo and where you saw it.

Galleries on this site publish only when everyone identifiable in them has agreed, and we never post an identifiable child without a parent or guardian's written OK.

Client galleries

A private client gallery opens with the access code we send you. Its address is made from a scrambled form of the code, and the code itself never appears on the site. Client galleries are kept out of search engines and the site map, and they close after their last day.

They are unlisted, not locked: anyone with the code, or with the address of the gallery or one of its photographs, can see them. Share the code only with people you want to see the photographs, and ask us to close a gallery early at any time.

Changes and contact

When this page changes, the effective date at the top changes with it.
